Within the framework of the Setmana de la Fusta de Catalunya, which annually schedules a series of events to value the world of wood, furniture and habitat in Catalan territory, the 4th Fusta Constructiva Congress will take place on October 19 and 20.
An event organized by the Escola Politècnica Superior d ‘Edificació de Barcelona, EPSEB, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the Gremi de la Fusta y Moble that aims to bring together all the knowledge and news about sustainable construction in wood, in a moment of growing demand for this material both professionally and socially.
The congress, which is held at the EPSEB headquarters (Avda. Dr. Marañón 44-50, Barcelona) is aimed at architects, surveyors, engineers, interior designers, students and professors or professionals in the wood industry, as well as anyone interested in the use of wood.
Low energy Mid-rise wooden building
Among the congress speakers is Pere Linares, manager of House Habitat, who will speak about the construction of high-rise wooden buildings with low energy consumption. The presentation will take place on October 20 at 09.30 am and during it the case study of the 4-storey multi-family building with a CLT wooden structure will be presented, built by House Habitat in Palma de Mallorca.
A building prepared for its Passivhaus certification with a total area of 553 m2 that houses 4 homes (one per floor) of between 80 and 110 m2.
